My first book review! Yay!
My friend Abbey lent me the book, City Of Bones. It was an immense thriller with a fun and provocative edge to it. I enjoyed it immensely.
Clary, a 15 year old living in New york has a normal life. The only thing abnormal about it is the fact she has never had a father and the only remnants of him are the ones her mother keeps in a chest marked JC. This has always puzzled her. Yet it never keeps her away from going to the Pandemonium club with her best friend, Simon. One night she spots an attractive blue haired boy. She watches him all night until he disappears with a tall dark haired beauty into one of the back rooms. It all seems normal until to other boys enter carrying weapons. She tells Simon to call the police as she runs in. She soon believes that she witnessed the murder of the boy in blue hair.
The next night she goes off with Simon for the night to a poetry reading. There she meets the blond boy, Jace again. He threatens to take her back with him because she is the only person who can see him and it is something Jace's mentor, Hodge would like to know more about. She refuses, coming home to find her home ransacked by demons and one is still there. She tries fighting it off and somehow kills it. Why are these demons interested in her, and how is she seeing these things?
I loved this book and cannot wait to read the rest of the series. I wouldn't recommend it for younger readers. I would recommend it for 14+, any younger and they may not get most of the story line.
This was an amazing book and I hope you enjoy it as well!
